2011-11-11 Saule already in Lithuania

On the 10th November the container train Saule (The Sun) was solemnly met at the Kena’s railway station, transporting computer-aided equipment by transit from Chongqing city of China via Lithuania to the second-largest  Antwerp city of Belgium.

The technical upgrading of railway infrastructure is one of the priorities aiming at the integration into the transport networks of the European Union (EU), offering value-added services for the forwarders and other users of freight transportation services as well as for passengers.
Hereby we inform that JSC Lithuanian Railways are intending to launch open tenders for the construction works for the implementation of the following projects: Construction of second track on Kyviškės – Valčiūnai section of Vilnius bypass of Corridor IX B, Construction of second track on section Kūlupėnai – Kretinga, Construction of second track on section Plungė – Šateikiai, Construction of second track on section Telšiai – Dūseikiai, Construction of second track on section Pavenčiai – Raudėnai in August 2011. The co-financing of the projects from the EU grant assistance is envisaged.
