Container train „Sestokai Express"

Container train "Sestokai Express" connects partners from Western and Eastern Europe, Lithuania, Russia and Kazakhstan. Project goal is to collect goods from European Union in Warsaw and to deliver cargo to Smolensk, Russian Federation, by using a unique Kena station, modern Lithuanian Railways' infrastructure, rolling stock, innovative IT solutions and Lithuania-Belarus bilateral agreements. From Kena containers will be delivered to different directions in Russia, Kazakhstan and Middle East countries.  "Sestokai Express" train operator in Western and Eastern Europe is an international logistics company Hupac Intermodal SA, from Sestokai station train is operated by its subsidiary company in Moscow Intermodal Express. Cooperation with DB Schenker Rail Polska, subsidiary company of DB Schenker, one of the world leaders in logistics, ensured the container transportation through the territory of Poland to Mockava terminal.

On 21st of March, 2012 cooperation agreement on organizing regular container trains via routes Western Europe - Sestokai (Lithuania) - Smolensk (Russia) - Sestokai (Lithuania Republic) - Western Europe. The first "Sestokai Express" train was released on 25th of March, 2012.
